my sista from the same mista GOT MARRIED!

back in july.

it was great.  the best weekend.

so fun to see family.  so fun to meet david's family.  the weather couldn't have been better.

emily looked amazing.  her dress, her vail, her make-up was perfection. it was almost a tad uncomfortable how amazing she looked.  i had to tell walker "eyes up buddy, c'mon don't be weird, that's my sister"

the deck didn't fall!

WHOA! Been a while

hi folks.  been a while.  nothing really extraordinary has happened.  we slowed down the housing projects after em's wedding.  we got to enjoy the last month of summer with friends and fam(documented), swam in the lake, went to concerts, paddle boarded,  road bikes... but after a month off i started to feel the itch.  you know the one you get when you have poison oak ? (which walker got for the second time).... and more importantly get when you walk by an unfinished project every.single.day.  the itch gets bad so you subtly mention it every once in a while, like "hey babe,  your beard looks awesome, sure would be nice to put that counter in" or "morning sweetie, you have huge muscles, remember when you said you would finish the fire place" or "dood,  your haircut is the worst,  i really want to park my effing car in the garage.  clean your sh*t out".  ya know.  that itch.

it's hard to get mad, because it's not like he is sitting in the house watching 8 tv shows a day or playing xbox. he is always doing something, but like the winter he is focusing on the outside, when there is nothing to focus, while there are 5 unfinished projects on the inside.  he spends 8 hours a day out there doing god knows what.  he found a huge ants nest and pored gasoline and poison over it, right next to the house.  i swear the house smelled for a month.  poison and gasoline, it was fun not being able to open the windows when it was 95 degrees.

Here is a recap of the last of summer and some house updates.

35

has never looked so good.

i remember the day we met 5 years ago like it was yesterday.... we were babies (well, i was.... walker was already old).

we were at a bar... at noon - you do the math.  walker was at the table behind me. the cougars to my left (not washington state) were strategizing on how to make their move to wt.  one of them wearing a cropped kansas state t shirt (no joke).  after an hour, they make their move.  walker in his oh so polite way, indulges in convo with them for an hour.  they leave.  on her way to the bathroom libba walks over and tells him what a good job he did with the cougs. he laughs and asks her to sit down.  they chat. then she bats her eyelashes and shyly says; hey, i just met you, and this seems crazy, but here's my number, call me...maybe..?

we closed the bar that night.  don't tell your mom.  or your cousin.

are you freakin ready for a walker montage? i am.

i'm uncomfortable.  circa 2008 bumbapalooza.

seriously.  could he get any cuter or any more buff?  i know when people look at us together, they must think - she must have a really good personality. or, she must be super loaded.  both are totally true - but still!

happy belated bday walk man and happy almost 5 years since meeting for the very first time.

what are you doing this weekend?

is a normal question one asks on a friday.  i loathe it now.  my answer has been the same for the last month.  work on the mother effing deck.  work on the house.  work on the yard.  work. work. work.  there is light at the end of the tunnel, but the last month has been intense.  my folks have helped out a lot, which is awesome.  my mom pulls weeds like a mother f*cker.  never seen anything like it.  my dad is good with the power washer.  and my bro is pretty unreal at landscaping.  our friends have also been helpful, bringing us dinners... helping walker...sometimes i think they think they will just come over and drink beer and hang out...  oh no.  walker is insane.  if you volunteer to help, he will put you to work.  no bull sh*t.  no chit chat.  work.  they leave a little shell shocked.  and sore.

if you can't tell, i swear when i get testy.  must work on this.

so, next time you see me.  don't tell me about your trip to the effing coast.  i want to go to the coast.  i want to sleep in.  i want to look at our bank statement and not see home depot on there 11 times in one day.  i want to be n.o.r.m.a.l.  it's a pipe dream folks, because i married and freak.  a machine.

here is a lot of effing pictures of what we have done so far this summer.  despite my rants, we have had some fun - although after the fun was an early morning of effing work.  weeds.  paint. move sh*t.  work.

i am tired.  i am excited that em's wedding is done.  we can have a summer.  we can get to know each other.  we can stay up late on a friday.  sleep in on a saturday. hike.  swim.  hang with friends without getting the "we need to go now" look from walker...it's gonna be like your weekends. but better.
