April Showers

no, i am not referring to the weather.  i am referring to baby showers!  how very cheeky of me. in the same weekend, i had not one, but two showers!  extremely lucky girl. it was baby boy madness gone wild.  my mom's girlfriends threw both em and i a joint shower on saturday afternoon and then em and a few of my girlfriends threw another one on sunday.

they were both amazing.  my moms friends look and dress better than most 20 and 30 year olds - just with more diamonds.  it's both admirable and depressing at the same time.  they are a fun bunch and were very generous with their gifts and advice!  the second shower was strait out of a blog post from some ultra cool professional blog that looks staged.  my good friend jasmine volunteered to help my craft/design/creative challenged sister...  she is an interior designer and has a pretty sweet blog herself, check her out here.  i mean, really... it was too cute and there were donuts.

in the weeks leading up, walker kept saying how excited he was for my shower.  which i thought was weird, because it's a baby shower and he wasn't invited.  i realized why when i walked in the door.  the girls enlisted his help with the decor.  a dream come true for him.  he made the signs.  i love that he loves to help and the fact that he gets genuinely excited for this kind of stuff.  it's weird and cute at the same time. mostly cute.

knocked up sisters. in the same dress.  ahhhhhhh yeah. seriously, em's bump looks so smooth and round in every photo.  mine is so high and always has my shirt stuck in it.  #mustworkonpreggoselfie

jasmine (decorator) in the leather. duh.

this girl made the journey.  love her.  em and kiki talking shop in the background.

didn't get a good group shot, but you get the picture.  girls kickin it, talking maxi pads and babies.  good times.

new bed

when walker found out i was pregnant he kept telling me that he couldn't wait until i do yoga in the living room with my belly.  which is funny, because much to my own disappointment, i never do yoga let alone in the living room. that's a really weird thing for him to say now that i think about it...right?

flash forward to now.  35 + weeks knocked up.  still no yoga, but in order to get the blood flowing and to feel more active, i stretch a lot.  I don't think it's what walker was imagining. it's not cute.  it's grunting and sweating and a lot of frustration because rolling over is hard.  it's really hard.  i can't imagine this boy getting bigger, but science tells me he will.  which is why i am SUPER excited that our mattress is no longer on the floor.  getting out of bed to pee 8 times at night es no bueno.  he made this bad boy all from scratch.  i love it.  i love how log cabiny it looks next to everything else modern.  he will eventually build some side tables out of the same material.  and we are looking at some hanging light bulbs. and then we move onto the master bathroom. and then some custom book shelves.  and then....
