yes please

diggin this fo sho.  this outfit reminds me of something winona would wear on justified.  walker got me hooked.  good show - raylan is a babe.  then we started to watch deadwood.  obsessed - but i find myself wanting to call people the "c u next tuesday" word all the time -it's frowned upon in the insurance industry.   now we are onto the wire.

concerts in oregon

in may are lovely

and cold.  are you kidding me?  this was memorial day in bend.  my toes had frost bite.

2 to the 9

wowza.  blogging is a lot of f*cking work.  i have been 29 for almost two months now and i am just now getting around to talking about it.  nothing much to say actually... but i had two great meals in a row.

first with these crazy folks.
love me some cafe mingo - bob, my folks, dan and em.

walker went with his mom to iowa over the weekend.  totally rude.  however, i still had fun.  especially with these ladies.  not gonna lie, this din might have been one of the most fun dins i have had in a LONG time.  we laughed. a lot.  steph, kc, the suz, jo and jessi.

dinner at firehouse followed by beers at hopworks

gts all around.  walker better be around for the big 3 0 or we are done.

the DECK

wt's labor of love.  he used the wood from the old deck to build the foundation and thought it would only take him a weekend to face.  he is cute.  this deck took all of last summer.  drill bits galore.  this thing is legit.  next earthquake, i am running outside onto the deck. he reinforced the sh*t out of it.  i think our house is sitting on less foundation than the deck is.

saved money by breaking up the concrete himself

this thing is BIG.  1000 sq feet of deck. it is the entire length of our house.  hence the time commitment.  one row took him like an hour.  seriously, we could have a small wedding out there.

this thing would have been expensive (if walker didn't do all the work).  he couldn't just go to home depot or a lumber yard and get regular wood.  he had to get Brazilian iron wood "maranti" bla bla bla from a lumber broker - yes they do exist for residential projects.  he used the discount line on me again.  and a new one, a sustainability line..."bubs, this deck will last 100 years, if i use normal wood, someone will have to rebuild - waste of materials." really? i don't give a flying F about someone 50 years from now using materials to build a new deck.  however, i appreciate his efforts in improving his selling skillz.

i like his go big or go home tude when it comes to getting me gifts and pulling weeds.  but now, when it comes to this house it makes me want to burn his hands.   we are on the same page - but if left alone he will knock down another wall and build a laundry room of marble and diamonds. not blood diamonds, just diamonds.

and of course, like anything he has done, it is perfect and clean and impressive and really really cool. damn.
