cousins

boone told me his favorite cousin (or as david calls him, his blousin) is jax - to be fair he has yet to meet his other cousins and really never looked jax in the eye.  jax is his favorite, not because he is his only half black cousin (c'mon people it's 2013), but because they were born 3 days apart.  and because he knows his mom is bff's with jax's mom...

I have said this before, but it has been so incredibly fun going through all of this with em.  when on maternity leave we would talk all day long about their little milestones and accomplishments.  neither of us know what we are doing... it's almost like we tag teamed the research.  green poo?  I am on it.  clogged milk duct?  we got this figured out... we also like to complain about our husbands together.  like, "oh, david didn't automatically jump up and volunteer to feed him last night either? what a douche." or "sometimes I cringe when walker holds Boone, because he is doing it wrong, does that happen to you? No, just me ?"

jax is the cutest, with the smoothest most perfect skin known to man.  he is much more vocal than boone.  likes to hear himself talk, sometimes it is in the form of a constant 'waaaaaaaa'.  we laugh at him, both to his face and behind his back.  i love him and miss him everyday.

dood is huge. 

 

walker is SO proud of boone.  whenever we take him out he asks complete strangers what they think of his boy.  he also tells them how big he is...."guess what size onesie this is, no? 6 months!...guess how old he is, no again? 2 months!"  they pretend to care, but walker doesn't notice, he is too excited. he still can't wait for him to grow up and as he says, "do things".  still wants to feed him everything we eat.  like bad.  his new thing is to ask every day if he can shave his head.  he is not digging the ombre, short and blonde in front, long and brown in back hairdo.  i love it.

i say this every time, but I am going to blog more.  for boone's sake i need to.  thanks to technology I have not printed a picture in over a year.  do baby books still exist? i need to get one.  i just figured out icloud.  pretty cool.

boone is a rockstar baby.  seriously, i think i love him.  walk and I really lucked out with kid numero uno.  eats well. sleeps well. every night we are like, is this the night?  is he going to turn into an a$$ hole tonight?  hasn't happened yet.  not to say he doesn't have his moments.  boone is extreme.  like his dad.  he is either super chill, or when he does get upset, he gets pissed.  like face turns red, can't breath, can't calm down pissed (just like walker).  luckily this rarely happens.  we are so so blessed.

past three months notes
- he is a dream sleeper.  naps are long.  only wakes up once a night, if that.  goes to bed easily.  I know. I know.  you want to kill me.  we are already prepared for a nightmare second child.
- he is a loud sleeper, been in his own room and crib since 3 weeks old.  way harder for mom and dad than him...
-when we do bring him in bed, walker and I both tell ourselves that he knows and he likes it better with us.
- we took a 3 mile walk every day while on maternity leave.
- going back to work was REALLY hard.  BUT, we lucked out with our care.  momma lynn has him one day and nanny Jenn has him the other days with her 11 month old, Harlow.  I have him on fridays...
- while i was home, i got the hang of the stay at home mom thing.  when i went back to work, it wasn't has hard as i thought...
- at 3.5 months, i think he is starting to get his first tooth.  drools like a mother trucker and always always has his hands in his mouth. but, I have no idea.  I go on babycenter.com all the time to figure out what is going on with him and how to be a mom.
-whenever he smiles he puts said hands to mouth.
- he is a random pooher - which after concern we found out is totally normal. sometimes will go 4 days with nothing.  I get scared to take him out when it has been over two days and nothing... because when he goes, it is like a four diaper doozer.
- he is losing his hair like an old man, front to back.  he will def be a blondie.
-"does a fat baby sweat, you ask?" yes.  boone sweats all the time, especially when nursing. 
-nursing has been a challenge thanks to an infection that was the most painful thing ever.  we powered through and all is good now.
