drawer fridge? what the what?

the kitchen is slowly coming together.  walker has been focusing on the outside of the house the past couple of weekends.  which totally makes sense because the inside of the house is almost done and it has been great weather and there are no mud puddles and he doesn't keep giving himself poison oak and all of his tools are not getting rusty....

like you care, but we are thinking about doing a drawer fridge/freezer under our counter, but surprisingly mr. t is worried about resale.  the man who doesn't want to put railing on our 20 foot high deck because he doesn't like "the look" of it, is worried about resale....i, in a surprising role reversal, love the idea.  i love how simple and smooth it looks.  don't tell walker, but i think i am becoming the modern woman he has always wanted me to be.  or maybe it's the 4 episodes of mad men i am taking in a night (yes, we are 5 years behind on this phenomenon).

you see that circle?   i did that in photo shop.  just in case you don't know what "fridge" i am referring too.  we were planning on building shelves above it and to the right.  now we are thinking of getting rid of that fridge (the one in the yellow silly) and doing it all under the counter.  because the island is like 60 feet long, we don't need to worry about lack o storage... but is it too euro?  or the bigger question, are you too euro? think about it.

what do we think....hmmmmmm.  hmmmmmmm?  we would probably do 2 side by side.  we like to eat.

pepple beach.

a few weekends (more like two months) back we made a last minute trip to carmel.  lizard lives in manhatten.  manhatten kansas, so whenever she gets away to the west coast we gotta see her.  i had no idea that we were going during the pro am until a week before - it's a big deal.

this was a whirl wind three days filled with laughter, food, and the most epic packing fail i have ever done. the weather in ptown had been terrible.  so when i booked a california trip (in february), all i could imagine was sun, cocktails with fresh oranges, straw fedoras, white jeans, sunglasses, short sleeved shirts in bright colors, light weight coats, open toed shoes...  this is what i packed, knowing that we would be outside walking around a golf tourney.  and knowing that the weather had a 75% chance of rain and was supposed to be in the mid 50's.  but i figured 50 in CA is more like 70 in portland.  right?  RIGHT?

fail.

clyde the glide.  jealous?

perfect golf tourney attire!

got behind the bar... harder than it looks.  #respectforbartenders

we were wet and cold.  and i wore white pants.  we got weird looks from other people...but it's ok - because we had passes to the grey goose tent, bill murray was there and i got to see my friends whom i miss dearly (is that the correct way to use "whom"). so proud of them.  especially dr. liz.  living in manhatten with a bunch of college kids and touching horses in inappropriate places all day can't be fun.  i tell her when i have a bad day, i just think of her and i immediately feel better.

i kid.  i kid.

i was tired and got sick for a week after our encounter.  being almost 30 is hard on the body.

next stop. i.t.a.l.y. i will not do another packing fail.  i will not.
