yes please

diggin this fo sho.  this outfit reminds me of something winona would wear on justified.  walker got me hooked.  good show - raylan is a babe.  then we started to watch deadwood.  obsessed - but i find myself wanting to call people the "c u next tuesday" word all the time -it's frowned upon in the insurance industry.   now we are onto the wire.

concerts in oregon

in may are lovely

and cold.  are you kidding me?  this was memorial day in bend.  my toes had frost bite.

2 to the 9

wowza.  blogging is a lot of f*cking work.  i have been 29 for almost two months now and i am just now getting around to talking about it.  nothing much to say actually... but i had two great meals in a row.

first with these crazy folks.
love me some cafe mingo - bob, my folks, dan and em.

walker went with his mom to iowa over the weekend.  totally rude.  however, i still had fun.  especially with these ladies.  not gonna lie, this din might have been one of the most fun dins i have had in a LONG time.  we laughed. a lot.  steph, kc, the suz, jo and jessi.

dinner at firehouse followed by beers at hopworks

gts all around.  walker better be around for the big 3 0 or we are done.

the DECK

wt's labor of love.  he used the wood from the old deck to build the foundation and thought it would only take him a weekend to face.  he is cute.  this deck took all of last summer.  drill bits galore.  this thing is legit.  next earthquake, i am running outside onto the deck. he reinforced the sh*t out of it.  i think our house is sitting on less foundation than the deck is.

saved money by breaking up the concrete himself

this thing is BIG.  1000 sq feet of deck. it is the entire length of our house.  hence the time commitment.  one row took him like an hour.  seriously, we could have a small wedding out there.

this thing would have been expensive (if walker didn't do all the work).  he couldn't just go to home depot or a lumber yard and get regular wood.  he had to get Brazilian iron wood "maranti" bla bla bla from a lumber broker - yes they do exist for residential projects.  he used the discount line on me again.  and a new one, a sustainability line..."bubs, this deck will last 100 years, if i use normal wood, someone will have to rebuild - waste of materials." really? i don't give a flying F about someone 50 years from now using materials to build a new deck.  however, i appreciate his efforts in improving his selling skillz.

i like his go big or go home tude when it comes to getting me gifts and pulling weeds.  but now, when it comes to this house it makes me want to burn his hands.   we are on the same page - but if left alone he will knock down another wall and build a laundry room of marble and diamonds. not blood diamonds, just diamonds.

and of course, like anything he has done, it is perfect and clean and impressive and really really cool. damn.

inspiration

this video kills me!   my favorite part is the girl in the red who has her friend stand on the back of her blocks... like you care, but i was a high school hurdler.  state champ.  no, actually i didn't make it to state with the hurdles.  2nd at district.  just kidding, 3rd.

coffee table

wt made this coffee table for a colleague of mine.   very impressive to say the least.  normally, i would ask him to come in and do a 'guest post' to explain his creation.  however, when you ask him a question about the design process, you get...."well, you need to start with a blank slate, don't you dare think about price, where are the lines? gravity doesn't exist...." it doesn't really make sense and it makes me uncomfortable when he talks like that.

i can say that he envisioned it, drew it, illustrated it in 3D, mocked it up with cardboard, picked out the materials (cumara), had a guy route out the legs, sanded (duh) and oiled the legs up, had the glass made into a cool shape and then put it all together. and BOOM goes the dynamite.

can you say architecture digest?  money shot.
seriously - blown away by this guys talent.  one day he is gonna have a store/showroom/houses he designed full of this stuff.  you can quote me on it. or just find this blog that will forever be on the Internet even after i delete and say - she called it.  libba jay templeton formlery lawrence called it.

pretty cool

remember when i said i don't like to toot my own horn?  i think i love myself a lot, because i am going to do it again.  i mean, other than selling our information to the devil, isn't that the point of blogs and facebook? no? TWO of our wedding photos have made it in magazines (Oregon Bride).

1.  our awesome photogs won a prize for this bad boy. http://gabrielboone.com/.

2.  our friend works at a bridgeport village and she was in charge of Bridgeport's wedding advertisement and used this:

sometimes i still look at blogs and wedding magazines when i get bored.  just sometimes.  i had a hard time finding my wedding dress.  i didn't have a 'this is the one' moment, no chills, no tears.....  don't get my wrong, i hearted my dress, but my search was not easy.  now, i go online and poof, amahzing dresses every where i look.

this tude might be one if my worst qualities.  i am the grass is AWLAYS greener type of girl when it comes to this stuff.  i think it makes walker secretly hate me.  i'm not saying - oh i like this other dress.  i am saying oh i love this dress, i wish i would have worn this dress, the wedding would have been more fun, my kids would one day think i was cooler, i would feel more complete in life if only i would have picked this dress.  yes weird.  there are far more important things in life to worry about.  but i can't help it. you are probably thinking, lib, stop.  your dress was amazing, you looked so pretty, you are really skinny, your wedding was the most fun i have ever had and you  have really clear skin with no visible wrinkles.  i appreciate it.  here are some of those dresses i find my self coveting.

anyhoo.  i like looking at clothes and fashion.  this was a far fetched excuse to do so.  i also like parks and recreation - cracks me up every time.
